What will you learn ?

February 24th to June 13th 2025

This comprehensive training is designed in accordance with the requirements for registration with Yoga Alliance USA. Upon graduation, students may apply directly with Yoga Alliance USA for “RYT 200” yoga teacher status.

Yinspiration is the first yin yoga school in the world to develop a full time residential 200hrs Yin Yoga Teacher Training in 2013 in Bali. Setting the gold standards as the first to develop a comprehensive and rigorous yin yoga training curriculum, hundreds of students and current Yin trainers from all over the world have graduated from this program.

Taught by senior Yinspiration trainers, lead teacher Dominik and guest teacher Fran who will ensure that you receive teacher training to the highest standards.

This training is the blueprint yin yoga teacher training that lays the foundation for one to become a full-fledged Yin Yoga teacher upon graduation.

Techniques, Training, Practice

In the online yoga teacher training, we will delve into several critical areas. First, we will explore the techniques, training, and practice of Asana, with a focus on Yin Yoga theory, and discuss the Yin and Yang descriptions of Asana. We will differentiate between aesthetic and functional yoga and develop levels of functional awareness to understand the purpose of yoga Asana better. Key topics include "The Rebound," the seven archetypal Yin Yoga poses, and over 100 Asana variations targeting myofascial groups from Jo Phee's Book of Yin. Additionally, we will examine the relationship between Asanas and Meridians, the flow of Qi in connective tissues, and the skillful adaptation of poses for individual needs.

In the Meditation section, we will cover key principles of meditation, various meditation practices, and different meditation methods. We will also explore Pranayama, focusing on it's effects on anatomy and the subtle body, along with practical Pranayama exercises.

Anatomy & Physiology

The Anatomy & Physiology section will include an in-depth study of anatomy guided by Sutra 14-10-7, covering the 14 skeletal segments, 10 myofascial groups, and 7 archetypal poses. We will analyze muscle groups, muscle contraction, skeletal variations, and the theories of exercise, tension, and compression.

In biomechanics, we will assess yin yoga poses, joint movements, range of motion tests, and the influence of proportion and orientation. Additionally, we will explore physiology, focusing on the nervous system (including the 'fight, flight, freeze' response), the roles of the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems, and the interrelationship between breath, meditation, and asana.

Yoga Humanities

The Yoga Humanities section will cover the history of yoga, with a focus on the evolution of alignment. We will delve into philosophical teachings, utilizing the learning model of Shravana, Manana, and Niddhidhyasa to explore the relationship between asana, pranayama, and meditation. Key texts such as Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Yin Yoga Sutras by Paul Grilley will be examined. We will also reflect on yoga ethics and how they relate to personal practice and teaching, emphasizing self-reflection and ethical application in a teaching context.

Teaching Techniques & Sequencing

In the Professional Essentials section, we will cover teaching methodology, including sequencing in Yin Yoga, teaching principles, and teaching "The Rebound." We will explore the energy curve and mood (bhava) of a class, functional teaching techniques, variations, props, and adjustments. We will discuss the benefits and contraindications of poses, functional vs. aesthetic teaching descriptions, levels of functional awareness in teaching, and how to read skeletal variations. Additionally, we will address the business side of yoga, covering marketing, promotion, and professional organizations like the Yoga Alliance. The practicum will involve teaching skills, leading asanas, and crafting sequences to adapt asanas effectively.
